Does your State offer a real time electrical generation report?

Just wondering if your State offers a real time plot or chart for your source of electricity. Here is an example. It’s Alberta’s report for the the electricity sources. It’s windy in Alberta right now and 20% of their power is coming from wind farms. Also, the sun is rising higher in the sky and they will score another 16% from solar, and will back out gas turbines as the day progresses. Coal has disappeared from the grid in Alberta but still exists on the chart as zero. Enjoy.

I'm retired from the electric utility industry . I never had an interest or a use for information like that . I kept the substations operating and let the bean counters worry about such things .

Yes, but its by utility not state, so there are 3 zones.

I find the Dominion outage map more useful. I can determine if my ice cream will melt if I am away. Not sure how it helps, but I feel better?

Yes even backwards new Mexico does. It must be some sort of federal requirement to get other people's money.

Do they give you the information on the other 50% of CO2 emitting carbon fuels they are burning?
If not there would seem to be an agenda since that chart is only 50% of current generation taking place and daytime too.

I would think a summary report for a month (or a week or a year perhaps) of how the electricity was generated over the entire period would be more interesting. What it is doing right now may not be what is going on later today.

Yep wind tends to be a no show when it's really hot and on really cold winter nights.

That duck curve looks like a system entering or nearing total failure.

And here is the change in output at just past solar noon. The wind died down but solar kicked in. Together they are proving almost 25% of Alberta’s electrical power right now.

Wind is doing well this morning, providing 29% of Alberta’s electricity. It has pretty much backed out most of the simple cycle gas turbine generation. I’ve included a brief description of simple cycle plants from the Calpine site for US generation.
