So it's only Ford that says not to reuse?
What about thread locker? Again only Ford?

Mercedes, Volvo and Toyota say not to re-use them. It’s not just Ford.So it's only Ford that says not to reuse?

I think you meant to say that VW and other German bolts must be of poor quality, since those manufacturers consider their bolts to be “one time use”.Ford bolts must be poor quality. I thought they said Quality was Job 1.
My understanding is that VW has a lot of one-time use bolts too. Surely not all of them are stretch bolts. Am guessing that the engineers wanted locktite on the bolts, and found that it was best to have the bolt manufacturer coat the bolt (faster for production), but then that means the bolt has to be replaced after each use. Seems excessive to me but there must have been a reason in the first place.
Why can't I pop the bolts in my ultrasonic cleaner. Then coat with thread locker. That is exactly what I think Ford does. There's really no other reason for it on a lot of the OTU bolts.
I get throwing away TTY ones, but Ford puts OTU on dang near everything.
I just hit them with a wire brush and apply some blue. Why can't I pop the bolts in my ultrasonic cleaner. Then coat with thread locker.
Agree. If a boot is tty, or has some angle requirement, I’ll replace it.If the call to replace is just because the dry film threadlocker....No. I'm capable of applying threadlocker all by myself!!!
The manufactures/dealers don't like buying the whole town threadlocker if you know what I mean.

If it’s because of the application of loctite, no… I’ll prime and then apply the correct thread locker.
