Do you use clamps on this type of fuel hose?

Replaced the motor in the fuel pump assembly. Just the act of moving it broke the dry brittle plastic hose attached to it. No longer available from the dealer, I found what looks the same online. It's made of plastic, like nylon and I had to soak the end in hot water to soften it so it would slip over the barbed fitting. Does it need a clamp? The original didn't have any.

You need fuel rated hose. May need to get it from hydraulic shop or hydraulic part store.
This is if you are only replacing the hose.
Otherwise, your best bet will be buying the whole assembly.

Nylon is generally not bothered being immersed in fuel.

The crimp butt splices usually included with replacement in-tank fuel pumps are insulated with nylon. And THHN building wire with an outer nylon jacket is usually listed as "gasoline and oil resistant".
