Recently picked up a 99 XJ for 500 bucks. It came with some brand new (>2k assumed miles) Dextero A/T 235/75R15s mounted on the ugliest Jeep wheels I ever seen. Having dealt with cheap Chinese tires (ironhead) before, are these gonna be a concern at any point in their tread life? Those ironheads performed like trash and didn’t even last 2 years under moderate driving. This Jeep will definitely be off road

Not sure if this is related to these specific tires but the plant code for the Dextero product is 179 which would be a Chinese facility. The GT Radial is plant code 1Y9 which is Indonesia. The SC plant that makes some of the Dextero tires is the GITI tire facility over near Richburg (south of Rockhill) off of I-77. They manufacture a decent and affordable tire but you have to seek out the specific products produced at their SC plant. Look for Dextero tires with a plant code of 01B if you want a South Carolina produced product.

01B stamped on all 4 tires 👍

I'm currently on my second set of those in the same size. I've yet to have an issue with them.

Those dexteros are not super aggressive and they should be fine for your use, but I would not expect more than 25k miles from them

I put dextero tires on my jeep a while back. Seems to be wearing fine although the balance doesn't stay. One of them was slipping on the rim but I think thats from the lube the shop used to mount them. Other than that they seem ok,

I have pretty easy access to a tire balancer so that’s not the worst issue for me
