OK, I'd like to hear more and yes, this is certainly interesting to watch but, I too would like to know the formula as the oil I use in each vehicle changes by the seasons and brands.

'01 Lexus RX-300 w/3.0L V6...QSUD 5W30 SN/GF-5
'04 Nissan Altima w/ 2.5L 4cyl...QSGB 5W30 SN/GF-5
'06 Mazda 3 w/ 2.0L 4 cyl...Havoline DS 5W20 SN/GF-5
'80 Firebird FORMULA w/ V8 4bbl...QS DEFY 5W30 SM GF/4(I need to look this up as it may be SL/GF-3 due the extra Zinc)

Don't you need to know the mileage of each vehicle and the driving style, winter/summer or cold startup idling or the % of city/hiwy miles traveled?

Thank you, I look forward to the results!

Thanks again randomhero439!

With the Grand Prix, is it just because of the Ultra's formulation or is this the case for all synthetics that I would use in a 5W30 grade in it? I ask because I am currently using QSUD, but have some Ultra and PP on the shelf that I won't be using in the Magnum or Impala.

Do you have stats on EcoPower btw? I have some 10W30 that I plan on using in my 2003 Chevrolet Impala 3800.

Thanks for all the hard work and generosity!

It would be even more valuable if he just posted the formula so everyone could calculate it on their own. Alas, maybe he's trying to patent it.

Thank you for your info on my Acura. Can you run numbers for the following :

2012 Mazda 3i Grand Touring w/ Skyactiv
3200 miles on the clock and on FF I believe.
Oil choices are M1 0w20 AFE, Synpower 0w20 and QSUD 0w20
Purolator Classic/P1 filter

I say make a web site with two sides.

1. For those who just want to play around with the oils/engines and results.

2. For those that have a UOA(mileage at sample, TBN...) for the oil, engine they are running the calculator for. They then could fill in/submit the relevant data which would then be added to the backend of the calculator improving its average accuracy.

Essentially a giant open sourced pool of data. Maybe require the UOA be submitted, and your approval before those numbers get added to the calc to prevent some boso from contaminating/corrupting the data.

And by all means the required disclaimer that this result is not a guarantee of mileage that can be traveled with out damage or make up oil and that this is for experimental/fun purposes only.

No, not because you think I am suggesting that it is a low recommendation, but the fact that Pennzoil Ultra is regarded as being one of the highest quality and longest lasting oils on the market. I was just wondering if it the case across the board with all SN 5W30 full-synthetic oils or just the specifications and parameters of Pennzoil Ultra in that grade.

Thank you for the info on the EcoPower, it is an API-SN oil that is semi-synthetic blended oil, but also, but who really cares Dexos-1 certified oil.

I really appreciate all the work you are putting into everyone's requests,
