Here in Australia the standard service interval for that car (as recommended by Toyota), is 15000km (9300 miles) or 12 months.


Correct, but severe service is half that, so 4660 miles / 6 months (which i follow due to short trips, albeit not in the cold).

Yes. The average MPG you're expecting to achieve over the course of the OCI helps account for things like city/hwy driving, or driving short distances in cold climates - all of these affect MPG, and the more fuel you burn over the same distance, the more severe the service. The OLM in my 530i is based on amount of fuel burned alone.

Hmm interesting... my Accord came out 5341 miles... (.8)*(9.1)*(9.1)*(26mpg)*(4.5qt)*(184ci/267hp). On Pennzoil Ultra?

Yeah, his formula penalizes small sumps with high HP as you can see.

your so strikingly close to the actual mileage i run them at and the mileage my nissan can go according to a UOA i had done a couple years ago. i change it every 8500mi. I think your on to something with your formula.
