Had a 2021 Odyssey in for a 4 wheel brake job - used Akebono pads/rotors initially however ended up with a rotational noise under hard braking from the right front. Ended up swapping the pads to fix it and used Denso pads - hadn’t seen them before. OE pads on back order from what the local dealer told me.

those are quality pads at one time I believe they were under the Hitachi brand. They are as good as Advics and the Akebono brand.

Those look a lot like the DFC 5000 series pads from India that I just installed. Might be the same supplier.

O'Reily's and AutoZone have inhouse brake parts with lifetime warranty and they're just as good

Just looked those up and I’d agree, probably the same. Wasn’t familiar with DFC prior.
Printing on the backing plate looks identical to the set I just installed. Not all of the DFC pads I've installed are Made in India, though.

Denso has been manufacturing stuff in India since 1986, and currently manufactures parts in 35 countries. IMO, the brake pads will be fine.

In a new world of dubious part sourcing, Japanese keiretsu names have been sort of an island of quality.
Sorry to hear the Akebonos didn't live up to that.

I would use them if there's no refund option. Most have brake issues because of the aftermarket hardware so it's best to clean and reuse them.

been seeing quite a bit of the Mercedes pads made in India now
Mercedes is probably getting pads from MAT Roulunds India. The makers of Dan-Blok current licensee of Bendix. and the company who has contracts with AutoZone(Duralast Gold/Pursuit/SD), O’Reilly(BrakeBest Select/ImportDirect) and Advance(Carquest Blue/Platinum). These don’t look like MAT-sourced pads.

If the AMECA edge code is DBxxxx, it’s definitely a MAT pad. Also, MAT likes to ink stamp their numbers vs. “print” them with a dot-matrix printer like those Indian Densos. Screenshot off Rockauto and Google, these are two examples of an MAT India pad - Bendix and Carquest Blue. Duralast Gold and BrakeBest, as well as the other pads MAT makes for Mercedes and Volvo have similar marking style.
