Decent Sunday morning watch- couple buys a motor home 2,000 miles away, requires two oil changes in first 24 hours

No. Not at all if you are going to use an RV to travel on vacation to places in " the west".
Ummmm, they were bringing a newly procured RV to their home. They weren’t boondocking far from the middle of nowhere on this trip.

Any person with half a brain would get he vehicle sorted first. They seemed to have had to do a bit more of that on the trip itself, but that’s the nature of an unknown.

I suspect this was nearly an entirely interstate trip. Note I said they were on the beaten path…

Pray tell where on here they were three hours from civilization. I can draw the I-90 with a crayon to overlap their voyage.

If they are going to go far into the wilderness, sure. That wasn’t this trip.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I wasn't saying THIS TRIP. I was saying taking that motorhome to some places (that would be three hours from anywhere) in some places of the west is non sensical-JMHO.
As a long time RV owner-there isn't anyway to make all the systems in a 20plus year old RV reliable-short of taking it apart and rebuilding/replacing EVERYTHING.
And obviously-this couple doesn't have the resources for that.
