Dang Gas Prices

im so tempted to buy some 55 gallon drums and a trailer and buy gas 220 gallons at a time, when its really low.

Yesterday; I was at a Shell station for munchies; and I noticed pulling in, a full bank o' pumps (cars at every one and one waiting behind some) and no price on the sign; there was also nobody out there at the sign, posting anything;
As I got up to the register a woman came in (no numbers or pole in hand looked like she was just "reporting for work) and told the cashier on the register to go ahead and give this guy (one in front of me) the "old" price before she keys in the new price on the computer; Old price $2.84, new $2.99; so I get up to pay for my munchies; I had to ask; if I go out there RIGHT NOW and stick my debit card in would I beat the price increase (I wasnt gonna get gas yesterday) and was told "nope" as she punched away at a computer behind the counter; and then said that it was already $3.14 in a town about 25 miles away; well [censored] does the price 25 miles up the road (different COUNTY even) have to do with HERE??
I paid for my stuff and went back the way I'd come from, about 2-3 miles and filled up for $2.79.. $54 worth, about 20 gallons into my truck but I got, while the gettin was good.

The way prices continue to rise at this rate I won't be able to afford Top Tier gas anymore!!!!! Heck in my hood Arco/BP which has some of the best prices is only a few cents lower than the competitors that claim to be Top Tier. I may just have to head back to Costco again and top off my tank with a Top Tier gas to mix it up a bit.
Obama needs to meet with the gas tycoons to make a deal for California cuz we pay some of the highest prices in the nation minue perhaps Hawaii.

I've been getting my gas at Costco quite a bit lately. It is a bit cheaper than tier 1. Since I add MMO with every fill-up anyway, it takes care of cleaning the fuel system, so Costco gas is fine.

Still 2.85 to 2.99/gal. at most places in Ohio. At the latest OPEC meeting last week, an agreement was reached to keep output at current levels. Look out for posible $100/bbl in the 1ST/Q next year. AS a point of interest, WSJ had an article today about the first oil well in the gulf of Mexico in 1950. The first Louisiana sweet crude sold for $2.67/bbl. Think about what has happened in 60 years.FWIW--Oldtommy

Ya know, I remember one of my friends and were on the way to go on a SCUBA diving/camping trip and my friend said he read gas was going to go from .35 to.50 per gallon !!! I replied naa it will never happen. That was in the early 70's

$2.75 yesterday on Truman road & Paseo in KCMO and $2.83 in KCK. Wowsers I think it was just $2.6x last week. At least it only took $22 to fill up the car. The Escape is going to be parked a little more this coming year.

Eric Smith,

I don't envy the extreme cold in your area right now according to the weather. I feel for you but the price your paying for gas is very good compared to us in California!!!! For regular gas in my area I'm paying about $3.20/gallon and still rising.

Next year when your paying the same amount here in Los Angeles it'll be up to and easy $4.00 again. This is what I fear again next year. When the gas is suppose to go down around this time it's acutally been rising???[censored]??? If our presidency doesn't do something about this what money he tries to help us save will only just be transfered to the gasoline companies. In a way it's in reality only a bank transfer Ha Ha:-).

$8,80 for 1 US gallon of gas, here, but there are places here in Norway where it cost more than 9.

I think you have very cheap gas in the US, and I don't quite understand why some people complain when gas prices are as low as 3 USD.
