I did not call you any names. That was directed at others (it should be obvious who the others are) which is why it was above your quote. I do not believe you received a "torrent of hate", I certainly did not intend it so.

No problem, misunderstandings happen. I don't see how the filter bypasses as long as the media is glued and pressure is on the caps on both ends, which it is even with a short center tube. Unless the media is soft and the spring collapses it, then of course everything leaks as the element is loose.. Good pictures and write ups.
