Got around to cutting this open.

White supertech.

Basically a Fram.

On these 'relatively' bigger applications FB chooses to use Fram fiber construction as opposed to the more common Champ Labs ST filters. Topic likely equivalent to a Fram Core without texture can.

Thanks for c&p.

Looks fine. How many miles on that filter? Interested to know if it’s older or recent make?
Around 3 to 4k

Came off a 1997 explorer 5.0

The filter can't be that old. I Believe the last ST2 I checked was the same construction

My kid drives a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer with the 4.2/6 and lives about three hours away. I went to visit him a couple of days ago and it needed an oil change. I took off the SuperTech filter (previously installed by me) and replaced it with an STP from his local Autozone. My intent was for me to put on a Champ/Luberfiner, but I forgot to bring the filter, so I then purchased the STP filter there. Both the ST and the STP filters were made in USA. Sorry, no pix. FYI, the STP was a much larger filter than the old ST. Everything went smooth. Oil installed was SuperTech 5W-30.
On another subject, he had a PO420 code show up. Spark plugs are under 10K miles of use and it also has three new coils replaced at about the same time. I'll be investigating the fix for that later. I cleared the code and he'll report to me how soon it reappears. New O2 sensors with a plug fouler, perhaps?
