Because we are a Hyundai dealer. The Hyundai filter is a bulletproof filter. If they fit either of my vehicles I would run them.

Hi first post here. Never knew this site existed until I started searching for efficiency specs on the Driveworks oil filters. Having not found anything I decided to contact Advance Auto directly to find the info. out (pretty surprised nobody did that yet to be honest)and just received the specs today. I got the info for 3 models, the DW-241, DW-4476 (both canisters) and the DW-5610 ( a cartridge filter). For both canister models I was told they are 75.2% @ 20 microns, and for the cartridge I was told it is 86.8% @ 20 microns. Apparently the ratings vary, and while they look to be nicely constructed filters I will pass for filters with better specs. Just thought I would pass along this bit of info for all those who are curious.

^^^ Good info. Others in this thread tried to get information from Advanced Auto also, but not as detailed as your info. Based on the numbers, these filters are still more efficient than OEM Honda or Toyota filters.

That is interesting information from AAP regarding a few of the DW filters. It does lead me to wonder though, why not at least list those in the AAP specification sections where it currently says >5mc for the two spin-ons mentioned, and 5mc for the cartridge?

If true though, not spectacular for the spin-ons, though as noted it's still better than the Honda A02 rock catcher.

Glad I could help. The specs apparently were not in their normal database, so I guess if somebody did ask and they found somebody not willing to actually hunt it down then they just weren't lucky. Having said that, I wouldn't be afraid to run it for a short interval if I got one included in a oil change deal... but I don't think I would stock up on them.

I sent an Email to AAP on a Driveworks DW-111 Filter that I got and they said the same: 75.2% @ 20 microns. I think it would be safe to say that the canister oil filters are 75.2% and the Cartridges are 86.8%.

we changed from purolatr to these driveworks we pay under $2.00 for them and have cut 3 open.. Nice filters. My filter rep turned me onto them. I asked him about the torn media issue on the others and he said a few people asked him about the tears and failing quality so he has been selling a lot of these. So far so good nice quality on the driveworks i now have around a hundred filters between oil and air in stock at the shop

Impressive uniform media spacing. The pleats all appear to have consistent clean side media spacing in the folds, almost like a wire backed media. The rounded folds mean maximum media surface area available for flow. Most non-wire backed filters seem to have many pinched pleats.

I have a DW filter for both, my '80 Firebird Formula V8 and my '04 Altima 2.5S...Both are the oversized versions for each engine. I'll give'em a try on the next OCI's.

yikes.. but for a budget jobber filter I guess it could be worse.
