Im in the far right lane approaching light to turn right. Guy in a Tahoe is to my left. He tries going through me to get into Taco Bell entrance...which to my right. Im OK, he got the ticket. He tried fibbing to the Trooper who cut him off mid-sentance.

Sorry to hear about that. Start researching bodyshops online and ask your dealer who they recommend. Don't go to the shop recommended by the other guy's insurance company because the shop will be treating the insurance company as the customer instead of keeping your interests in mind. It's a sad fact of the direct repair model.

Lil fender rubbing on the high bank.

I guess when you need a Taco you need it NOW!

Glad you are OK. Looks like a [censored]

Oh, man!! Glad you are OK!
I can't even imagine what he tried to tell the trooper, that scenario seems very much cut and dried. That's going to be quite the repair, hope it goes well.

Came close to a similar experience yesterday, in the leftmost lane of a double left turn in our "downtown" and a lady on my right I was basically parallel with decided she needed to be in MY lane just before we got to the intersection. I was able to swerve enough to avoid a collision despite her making it halfway into my lane before responding to my horn, then she tailgated me very aggressively after the turn (guess she cut off the driver behind me). I went to turn left into work and she whipped around me and gave me the bird as she went by.
Probably the same kind of person who would lie to a trooper about an accident...some folks are just hard to believe. That gal I had to deal with is going to get slapped silly by somebody of a less kindly disposition than me if she keeps that stuff up.

wow, glad you are fine, you have to take it to a insurance authorized shop [well that is the case with my insurance]
make sure you check all the gaps between the panels, headlight, hood etc, they should be consistent and match the other side.

Thanks gang. Yup, things could have been much worse. I'm not hurt and it still drives fine.

That is only if you are at fault right?

In ohio you can take it anywhere.

but in this case
if its the other guy's fault.

I'd imagine you can take it to any bodyshop within reason?

I'd probably go with a dealer. Unless you specifically know of a great bodyshop.
You could also pursue diminished value in the settlement, but sometimes its not worth it.

This guy is right, I had to take my Prius back three times to the dealer before the body work was acceptable after a drunk lady decided to park her car in the same spot as me.

Dunno, I am with ameriprise and they give me a lifetime warranty if I go to their "certified" shop. I am all about lifetime warranties, lol. Plus they waive the deductible sometimes.
Anyway, the best body shop in town (belongs to Dodge dealership) is the certified shop, good people and great turn around,
very pleasant receptionist.

Progressive (his insurance) has accepted liability and asked where i'd like it fixed. I advised Toyota dealership where i purchased the vehicle. She (insurance adjuster) said not a problem. Setting up an appointment now to drop the car off.

Does your Toyota dealer actually have a body shop, or do they farm out the work to someone else?

My dad has done body work for 30 years now, he says Progressive is one of the worst companies to deal with as far as getting them to pay up. They don't usually cover things like blending paint or cleanup on used parts.

So if the paint doesn't match perfectly, complain as much as possible. Look very closely.

There must be something really good at that Taco Bell. Like they say, Yo Quiero Taco Bell!!!

Nick1994 - My late brother-in-law said exactly the same thing about Progressive.
