Continental Extreme Contact Sports

Awesome tires. They use them at the BMW Performance Center in Thermal (y)
I don't really need them on the car right now, it's early March and I usually switch by 4/1 but going to the track I like to have them as they can act as a spare in case I damage one of my 200tw track tires so I don't loose out on the weekend and work well for rain sessions. It's possible we could see temps dip back into the 30s but really, it's not an issue if it's dry and I can just drive my other car with all seasons.

On my Honda HRV I have Conntinetal pro contact TX the oem tire....It has been a good tire.. I was at a local Walmart and they have a set of Goodyear reliant tires that fit for 110.00 each they are on rollback...Would I notice any change in handling ride or noise with the Goodyear tire??? The size I have is 225/50/18 and it is a V rated tire...

It’s going to be hard to go from Continental oem to a Walmart good year. I don’t have any experience with that good year but, I have a fair amount with continental. You just may end up with tires that transform your ride, and not for the better. I’ve never had a Continental that I wasn’t satisfied with. I’d even take my $600 lx 25s over my $1000 cc2s

Went for a drive. 37psi. Wow. So much better/quite than my worn PS4AS. I think this fall I may switch to Conti DWS06+ for my all season "winters".
I love my DWS06+ that I have had on the front of my Corvette for 4 years and on Monday I will have them on the back as well. For an all season tire they perform very well, at least for mildly spirited cornering on the street. And the tread life is very good!

I'm gonna have to replace my MPSS tires with something soon.
How many miles did you get from them? I still believe that I hold the record for most miles on a pair of MPSS tires (66,000) I’m sad that the fronts wore out so much earlier (32,000)

I really dislike soft sidewall on DWS06+. Bridgestone Blizzak WS90 winters are actually crispier turning into corner.

Kinda feel the same way... You get what you pay for...

I was between those and pure contacts and opted for pure contacts. Hands down the best tire I’ve ever used! Soft but firm, dead silent and at 10k they’re still almost at 100% tread. Maybe not as sporty looking as the dws but not far off. Her cars a luxury model so they fit the look very well. I would actually take this tire over a primacy any day and blows the doors off defenders. I’ve had both so can say that from experience.

I would never wear the tread out, they are probably 8 years old with 15K on them, pretty much all the tread is still there but there are weather cracks forming where the tread wraps around the shoulder.

I have a friend with a 2014 Corvette that has only 7k on it so his original MPSS tires are way past their time limit but still have lots of meat on them. I’m trying to convince him to replace them but it’s a tough sell (even though he’s a car guy and he knows I’m right)

Lows don't look like they get below the 40s now do swapped out my PSAS4s for the ECS02s. Around 5/32" so this year likely will be it when I take them off in November. So good. Quieter than ths all seasons and love that sharper/crisper feel.

I considered those Continentals. I have Continental SportContact 7's on my VW. Mine have the BMW star on the sidewall and don't know if that is a good or a bad thing. They also have foam, are marked "Conti Silent and have rim guards despite not being reported to on the Continental USA website. Also installed a Nuspeed rear anti-sway bar. I think I will install a Nuespeed front sway bar as the car now feels a little under sprung on the front despite feeling more neutral regarding understeer.

Front sway is a great upgrade. I run H&Rs f/r.

Star is that tire meets BMW manufacturing standard, one of them being that all fall within certain circumference for given size.
