Picked these up recently used...all at 8/32" and in perfect shape. 235/40/18. 4 for $400. Warm here in central VA today (high 70s) so tossed them on. Wow. V. impressive. Handling is sharp and composed and have good feedback at the limit. Quiet on the road. These are a bit cheaper than the PS4S and seem like a solid choice for a summer performance tire.

Those were my choice for my 2016 WRX when I had to replace the tires. Sold the car not long after that, so, unfortunately, didn't get to really, properly put them through their paces. But, for the time I had them, I didn't have any issues with them.

I went with those because I thought they represented a good value.

I'd buy them again.

All seasons aren't quite the same thing, are they?
My ride came from the factory with Extreme Contact Summer and I barely got 22K miles out of them. Switched to the Extreme Contact DWS06 which is considered a high performance all season and I have no reason to buy anything else. That set gave me 45K miles of great handling/wear and I gladly bought the 2nd set of them going on 2 yrs now. Actually had them off the car yesterday for PM and even with 20K or so on them they still look great.

No they aren't but the difference isn't what folks like to make it out to be is my take away. The PS4 AS is v. similar TBH, the difference is the "stiffness/feedback" to me at the limit is about all. I hit a certain corner to an entrance ramp as a test - I try to hit it over 40 (it's a 90) with my stability control off. I could definately get into it further on these at a few mph faster. I still hold that if you can't drive a tire like PS4 AS (or DWS06) hard on a public road and use "but my all seasons bro" as an excuse, you have driver mod issues.

This is some serious summer rubber. Per their description via TireRack

"...Note:: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Max Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced..."

They make good summer tires. It's almost impossible to break traction on my wife's C300 which has similar contis unfortunately wear is the obvious trade off. Pay-to-play as they say.

No doubt as I questioned the dealership as to why a car bound for NC had HP summer tires to begin with. During cold snaps, say in the 20s or a bit less now/then those things felt square until sufficient warm up. Could actually hear the out-of-roundness when they were really cold.

I actually had some General G-Max tires at one time that did this when it was below freezing and they were UHP AS! They wouldn't be round until they warmed up from sitting overnight.

Btw...nice rims. I forgot to mention.
Thanks - got those wheels recently to mount these up. Like them so much I may sell my APR black ones with the all seasons mounted and get another set of these...love the look. 20 pounds so not heavy, clear the BBK, and strong.

Great deal for like new tires at basically half price. I'd happily pay that.
I thought so and it was local to me so no drama picking them up. I actually got 5 for that price, one spare but it wasn't in great shape so I tossed it. I good way to try some perf. tires and see what I thought.

Love these tires. Had them on my previous 700hp Mustang. They handled the power wonderful and were a pleasure to daily drive. Can't wait to get them on the 340i.

Sharp wheels btw. I take it these are mounted on one of the VWs and not the Focus lol.

Thanks! Yes, mounted to my VW Golf Sportwagen. I really like these wheels + tires. I'll get a second set of these same wheels and swap the PS4 ASs to them for winter and sell the black APR wheels I had on here.

Those tires are awesome. Have them on my 16 Tucson Ultimate turbo. Feels like I'm driving a sports car. They are better than anything that Michelin has to offer IMHO.
