Consumer Reports reviews car waxes...

^^^ As I mentioned back on Page 1, NuFinish recommends two applications within two weeks for maximum protection.

THAT's where the "One-Year" protection comes from. The same strategy works for any brand of wax or paint sealant.

I've tried many products, expensive ones, cheap, really expensive, everything in between. NuFinish lasts the longest. It doesn't give the all out best shine, but for my daily driver I don't care I just want something that lasts, I don't feel like waxing my car every 3 weeks, and in the winter months can't wax it most of the time.

Detailing snobs seem to hate the stuff, but I think it's pretty [censored] good, especially for what it costs.

Except for Collinite, most waxes only last one to two months. I definitely wouldnt want to wax my car that often. NuFinish is not a wax, it is a sealant. And like many modern sealants, it has the gift of longevity. Many sealants last between 6 months to close to a year. Also, most of these sealants will not stain trim like NuFinish does. Moreover, many people prefer the warm glow that carnauba waxes give over the plasticky look that sealants give and that is why they are willing to wax so often.

I use both. I top my sealant with Collinite wax. I detail my cars every 6 months. I will wash, clay, compound, polish, apply sealant, and then, 24 hours later, the wax. I don't like swirls nor scratches and so don't mind detailing my vehicles every 6 months. The secret to having a beautiful shine is the prep work.

While you and I know this, I think we're just wasting our time trying to convey this message to the NF crowd. Some people are just Kool-Aid drinkers....

Bud Light probably recommends drinking a case a day too...any way you can move more product right?

LOL Bud Light. Hmmm.

I think that two thin coats of any wax/sealant product would make the protection last longer...

Some may say that Duragloss users fill their cups with the Kool-Aid too...

The problem is that NuFinish is a "cleaner" sealant and, just like cleaner waxes, it cannot be layered because its strong cleaners and abrasives will strip any old wax or sealant. Now you can layer non-cleaner waxes and sealants but NuFinish is neither.

The Kool-Aid analogy doesn't apply to Duragloss users. You see, I've actually compared Duragloss to NF and I know for a fact that Duragloss is the better product...

Have you ever used NuFinish?

It cleans off water spots but it is not abrasive.

Yes, but it has been over 10 years.

[censored] you consumer reports! Haha I had to pick up a bottle of nufinish after reading it... I have probably 4 or 5 different kinds of wax sitting around, but I like a variety.
I've used nufinish before, and liked it, but I haven't really run out of wax in a long time, so haven't bought any again till recently. It does leave a very nice slick surface. Wonder if topping a coat of nufinish with some eagle1 gel wax would be good...?
