Considering replacement vehicle. Help.

Any head gasket issue concerns? I’m reading a lot of head gasket and injector failures around 60-80k
Never heard of head gasket issues. Where are you reading about those? CivicX forum is my go to for civics, but I don’t recall anyone posting about it really

Happens on Civics, CR-V's and Accords with the 1.5 turbo. Seems to affect more Accords than the others for some reason. Just google it you will see many reports.

Drove the Accord and Camry tonight. Have the Accord overnight in fact. Camry was fine, feels older than the Accord (because it is). The driving position / design of the Camry made me feel like I was sitting up high (low belt line) which I didn't care for. Accord has torque for days compared to the Camry.

Love love love the Accords styling inside and out, Camry gets the job done but doesn't excite.

Still not sure what I will do. Honda has a base model in the color I'd prefer coming in a few weeks. I may put a deposit down on that and reserve it.

The main thing holding me back is the head gasket concern on the Honda 1.5 turbo. If I could get some data that Honda fixed the issue I'd feel a lot better about it.

I can’t speak for accords and CRVs, but not on civic. I’m absolutely loving my 1.5T
I love how it drives, feels very refined as I'm sure you would agree. No one would love it with a blown head gasket though. Easy to search and see Civics affected as well. I'm just curious if Honda has rectified the issue. Maybe only they know.

It has a 5 year/60k powertrain warranty, you seem to trade vehicles around that time frame, so shouldn't this be a non-issue? It was for me buying the Integra with the 1.5T, it'll be gone before the warranty is up. The fuel dilution issue seems to still be a thing. When I took delivery, the oil level was slightly below the full mark and now it's slightly above. When the OLM goes off I'll take it in for it's first no charge service.

Been discussed in a number of groups, but maybe not the forums. The forums don’t get very much traffic nowadays.

How about the 2L Hybrid model? Not much more $$$

The VAG 1.5 is a good engine. Very frugal if you want it to be. Mechanically sound with no design flaws. Also the timing belt has no interval for replacement which effectively means it’s good for 10 years 150,000 miles minimum.

Well I put a refundable deposit down on a 2023 Accord LX in Meteorite Gray. I was able to get them to take $1252 off MSRP. The car should be delivered in a few weeks. The Toyota dealer may be able to give a slightly better interest rate on a new Camry. They won’t put payments down on paper with the interest rate they are telling me though, which is odd / frustrating. My experience with them has left a bit to be desired.

Camry still just doesn’t appeal to me design wise. And driving it is fine, just feels like a car. The Accord has more smooth, effortless torque and more tech. I also like how it looks. Reliability of the 1.5 is still suspect to me.

Ugh. Not sure what to do.
