hi guys, Im looking at replacing the filter in my integra. the sotck design looks quite good on the 94-01 integra so it might not do much good swaying from the factory filter. Im looking at the comptech foam filter over the K&N. How good are foam filters at filtering??? Comptech is one of the best names going in the acura circles, but I dont know much about foam filters over paper or cotton...I tried serching but havent quite mastered the search function on this site. Thanks for the help. Ryan

Foam isn't regarded very highly on BITOG - usually not fine enough filtration w/o the use of oil. Look into AEM's dryflow or the Amsoil offering.

Can't go wrong with a good fitting paper, either. Your car and you won't notice the difference, anyways.

Yeah youre probably right. PLUS the price comptech charges for there foam filter is a bit much considering its just a hunk of foam. Thanks for the input, Im going to stay with OEM.

don't waste your money on foam or cotton filters ,If they did anything other than let more dirt in and for marketing they would be standard . Ever hear of cafe?

Well Steve S what do you propose for a solution on say my car that requires the use of a Cone style filter? I've yet to find a paper cone filter that will fit my needs.

I thought Comptech went out of business. Perhaps you can get the current stock for cheap since there will be no company to back up the warranty.

The Comptech filters were made by Unifilter.

Go to a real good parts store and look up by size the filter you need replacing. Try Amsoil.

might have to look into amsoil. Trust me Im limited in space. Filter can't be any longer than 6". Most paper "cone" shaped filters I've found are way too long, or the inlet diameter isn't big enough.
