Just got my first bottle of Collinite 845 Insulator Wax this week from a dealer on E-Bay, paid $14.99 w/free shipping and had it in 3-days.

Going to apply it to the Pontiac G6 tomorrow, have never used the 845 but have had great success with the 476s paste wax. Excited to get it out and see the results!
 
Yes, the 476 paste WILL actually keep you in shape/give you a workout if you use it often enough!!

Both the 476 and 845 are great. I use the 476 first then apply 845. That combo carries me easily through a NY winter!
 
No, I mean what's the difference polish wise. Is one a polish and other just a sealer, are they both polishes, etc.?
 
They are both a wax, though some consider them a wax sealant hybrid. The 476 is a paste and will last longer but is more difficult to apply and remove. The 845 is a liquid (if shaken well) and lasts a good while and is easier to apply and remove (if done thinly).
 
Even after shaking there is usually a thick glob just under the cap. Remove it and use something to push the glob down into the liquid and shake some more.

People use the word "polish" differently. For me (and probably most) it is compound used to remove paint defects like swirls, holograms, scratches, etc. The Colinite products mentioned are not polishes in this sense. Some people use the word for a last step product like a wax or sealant which is precisely where the Collinite products fall.

I use the word polish for any type of product that has an abrasive in it, even if it's just a cleaner wax, I still consider it a polish. So basically, both the 476 and 845 are just sealers?
 
my under standing 476 and 845 are basically the same thing. Its just that 845 has been dissolved a bit in what ever they use to make it more liquid like.
 
My first impression of the 845 is two thumbs up! Easy on, easy off, car looks great. Will probably put on a second coat this week.

Will be interesting to see how durable it is compared to the 476s paste.
 
I added a second coat over the weekend.

I wanted to see how it beeded up so I filled a 5-Gallon bucket full of water and poured it on the hood...the water just rolled off. So far I'm extremely happy with the 845.

Loved the 476s too, but this stuff is so easy to apply. Incredible!

I hear you, I'm 75 miles to the nearest location that sells Collinite, I just get mine on E-Bay.
