I pretty much only do my own bean blend to get to get just the purrrrrrrrrrrrrfect espresso to taste, body, caffeine, extraction, grind oily-ness, everything just right. There is a little trial and error, but so far it's just a matter of taste tweaking.

I mean my only slight gripe is I have to stop at THREE every morning!

And well my Baratza Encore is pretty slow set near "1" but still a very good grinder for the price, very reliable bought May 22 2021 (I checked)

I started with a new coffee yesterday. I got this 2 pound box for $15 ($11 US) and as usual I made a hot coffee and then put it in the fridge for an hour and then added ice to it. I drink mostly decaf these days as I try to limit my caffeine to just 2 or 3 cups per week

I want to say a full kilo, but maybe a hair less. Right around 2 pounds.

I even use the huge clips the pinch the whole width but still not a great seal.
I knew what you mean...the chip bag clips. I don't overthink it too much because we go thru about a pound/ week. Although the stuff in our beach house sits for much longer periods of time. Maybe a bigger canister down there is in order.

My wife bought a few of these Oxo Pop containers for rice, barley etc...

I'm going to ask her to get a large one for the beach....the stainless canisters are ok if you're making coffee every day. 2 weeks with the clip on the bag is ok. 2 months probably isn't.
Good if your storage area is dark. Clear not good in light, IMHO.

It is. Kitchen cabinet. My question is : should the cannister have a means to vent/ exhaust like that little valve on the bags?
The stainless canisters do. The plastic Oxo ones don't.
I don't think so! I think air excluded, if a little CO2 evolves, no harm............BUT how much? Good question really. AI seems to agree, vent not needed.
