I clearly remember my parents "percolator" and the smell of coffee every morning as a young kid.

I'm assuming they still make percolators? I haven't seen one in years. And what makes them superior to drip coffee makers?

They're great air fresheners but I'd rather all those aromatics go into my cup instead.

I'm no coffee snob, but yeah they still make them. I use a Farberware Superfast, same as they've been making for years. To me, they're superior because that's how I learned to drink it. I'm sure somebody could give you a more academic answer.

Gotta love that.

I've been drinking foldgers bold roast in the little tea bags. I know, I know. Not gourmet stuff, but it's better than what we have at work and you only make what you need.

Foldgers is good coffee. I found out that the Smuckers Company owns both Foldgers and Dunkin Donuts. Maybe some of the good is rubbing off.

You can drink Folgers but not MH? I can't even go near Folgers. Its so bitter! At least with MH you can make it strong and its not bitter.

Pre-ground Chock Full O' Nuts or Maxwell House. Green Mountain is good but not worth the price of entry at $7/lb/bag. Use pre-ground on the Hamilton Beach Coffee pot.

Dunkin Coffee is nasty. I used to like it until I began to drink other things. The coffee has a weird/blandness to it.

Usually Donut Shop coffee or Gloria Jean French Vanilla/Hazlenut for the Kuerig. Love the machine because I can also use it to pour hot water for a tea/soup lol.

Can anyone comment on White Castle (as in the restaurant) ground coffee?

The place that I like to shop has it on sale for $3.99 for a 12 ounce bag.... and since it now falls under my $5/bag price limit, I may give it a try.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how a place known for its slimy little burgers, can have coffee good enough to bag and sell...

I've never tried the beans they sell but their brew in the restaurant isn't bad. It's a little thin but still good.

You can get a good stove top Perk Pot at Ace on-line. That's where I picked one up for a friend's birthday. To save on shipping, they will send it to the Ace Store of your choice for free. The one at Ace is a 12 cup model and is perfect for a natural gas stove top or Coleman gas grill for the outdoors.

Cheers.

I've used up the bag of Caribou Columbian that I got for $4.99 a bag.

I was a little disappointed. I was expecting something a little more robust, I was expecting more. It had a good taste... but it didn't back itself up with anything that made me *want* another cup.

With its regular price at $7-$8 a bag, I'd been disappointed if I'd paid that much for it.

Just opened and brewed my first pot of White Castle coffee, which was on sale for $3.99 a bag (reg. $4.99).

It is a true restaurant coffee, it does everything perfectly average, and nothing about it is truly memorable... good or bad. It is very drinkable, even when black.

I'm going to brew tomorrow's pot a little stronger, and see if my opinion changes.

I noticed that the price for Dunkin' Donuts coffee has gone above $9 a bag at the store that I shop at. They weren't joking about the earlier mentioned price hike.

I'm still watching for it to go on sale.

On their website you can request a free sample. I'll give it a try.

I requested my free sample about a week ago. Their coffee is sold in the grocery store that I shop at the most.

+1 on that. It is my favorite everyday coffee. Their Regular Columbian, very good also. Both are the least expensive and most readily available coffees, that leaves a very pleasant wine aftertaste in your mouth, that lingers nicely. Both work well in my Bunn, and my cheapy drip coffee maker.

Just got some Trader Joe's imported from St.Louis, no stores here. Their Costa Rican Tarrazzu hard bean is very good. Trying the Ethiopian Yirgacheffe(sp?) at this time, also quite tasty.

Lots of good coffees out there, try them all and find one you really like.

I saw this at Costco Kirkland Signature Papua New Guinea Whole Bean Coffee(Arabica coffee beans) 3 Pounds for less than $20(maybe a promo) ... this coffee any good.

Per my earlier post this is my go-to everyday drinking coffee. The 3 lb whole bean bag should be ~$13. This is their medium/dark roast and I've found it to be very good on it's own merits, and incredible given the price.

I never thought I was a coffee snob until I read some of the stuff people here like!

I bought the 3lbs bag $13.99 at Costco. Hey this coffee is very good...strong body(no burnt taste) very low acidity.
Thanks for the tip!

Beaumont 100% Arabica from Aldi. $3.99 for 12oz. tastes bold and I like it. Gonna try that 8 o'clock stuff soon though.
