MS-6395 latest spec as of about winter of 95 was basically (almost exactly) GF-4. So any SM/GF-4 oil is MS-6395H/L/M whatever.

The latest DaimlerChrysler oil requirement is MS-6395N (backward compatible with previous requirements). People obsess way too much over the latest tongue-twisting, alphabet-soup automaker internal specs. The reality is that they just mirror the latest API/ILSAC specs (SM/GF-4).

Yeah but they listed it as a requirement just before GF-4 was available. A lot of the companies a the time did not list MS-6395 even if they were GF-4. The first oil change or two was a pain for me to find it. Only thing I found at first was new reformulated Mobil Drive Clean just prior to the release of all the 5000,7500,15000. But when they sent me the specs and found that it was just GF-4 no biggie for me just get GF-4 now.

At one time I could get SL/GF-3 MS-6395L/M and be just fine. Now that SM/GF-4 is dominant and everyone and their brother lists MS-6395 at least on the web not problems.

I love my MOPAR!!!
