Chinese EV models

I already showed you the numbers. Your article is bogus which is why I suggested you might do a little more research.
Regarding Musk, there are things I am impressed with, primarily Neuralink and including bringing back the Fremont plant and leading the world in the automotive space. There are things I'm not so happy with, to put it lightly.
The article I posted said 21% the one you posted was under 13%. which is it?

From NASDAQ.
How many shares does Musk own in Tesla?

Who Owns Tesla? Elon Musk is Tesla's biggest shareholder, and holds over 411 million shares for a 12.95% stake in the company – currently valued at just under $90 billion.

I did if you bother to read. My point was other investors own more than 85% of tesla.
If you did bother to read, I listed the major investors. Tesla is a publicly traded company. There are well over 4,000 institutional owners and millions of investors. Maybe even you if you hold an S&P Index fund.

You posted, "There you go shooting the messenger again. 21% owned by the muskrat, who else is holding the other 79%."
Hard to tell what you meant the way you entered it.

Hey Trav - I posted a Quinn Digital torque wrench under the Tools section. I would appreciate your thoughts as I do a lotta spark plug installations. Some Toyotas spec 13 lb/ft. Thanks in advance!

Resale value is a non-issue for 95% of those who post on here. I known this because I did a thread post your 5 year or newer vehicle. There wasn't a lot of them.
Good for them. I do care especially if it is due to unknown reliability history from an unknown to US manufacturer.

To be fair to Panda, I think he was referring to Chinese EV passenger cars. He previously mentioned BYD buses.

But BYD has to deal with American regulations. I'm highly skeptical of any Chinese passenger EV. The strange thing is that they've built a lot there as "city cars" where smaller EVs scale down better than ICE. But they'd never meet US passenger car safety requirements.

That might have worried me a year ago as well but here is the ENCAP report for the BYD Atto 3, one of the most popular EVs here, 2nd in sales this year only to the Model Y.

Check out the offset barrier test, it doesn't even close the panel gap to the door on that side or break the windscreen.

There was an article yesterday that claims...
Chinese EV maker BYD surpassed Tesla this year to become largest in the world
And this..
This year, Shenzhen-based BYD, backed by investor Warren Buffet, surpassed Tesla to become the top-selling EV brand in the world - and is on track to become the first to make more than two million vehicles in one year.
IMO the ICE may be the only hope for saving the worlds car makers from falling into Chinese hands, give it 50-100 years to develop new technologies and built infrastructure before converting to anything.

This can surely create price wars. If they start coming over to the US and Mexico I can see Elon cutting prices again here too, which won't be good for him or his share holders. Time will tell.

I have no doubt that once the tax credit goes away and it will they will be in the USA quicker than looters in a Nike store.
I have to agree, almost every electronic the majority of Americans buy comes from China or overseas. Price rules and I can see BYD and other Chinese companies overtaking our market in the EV sector.
We wont be able to give away tax credits forever, and some overseas might complain about unfair trade practices if they are not already.

A huge percentage of Tesla profits come from Asia and they are already on the defensive over there. This whole tax credit thing is rotten to the core, even with my fellow Americans who think Tesla is so successful, if so, take away the tax credits or apply them to all vehicles.

We better hope the go green incentives don't apply to this Chinese garbage if it finds its way here. I I'd be disappointed and sick, but not surprised or shocked if that did happen.

I see Tesla as more Chinese than American, you can bet they will increase their exports from China. I dont blame them, but they do have a lot of exposure there at the present time.
