It's the internet. Anyone can say anything. I don't think there's a single manufacturer that sells as high of percentage US assembled cars in the US as Tesla does. How so?

Well, Tesla US sales only come from Fremont and Austin. That will change in a year or so when Giga Monterrey comes online and delivers the Model 2.It's the internet. Anyone can say anything. I'm glad you enjoyed that. As far as Buick I'm not a fan, but I'd own one of them before a Tesla. Now that's funny. I thought you meant Buick for a second...
A lot of people feel that way. The younger generation does not and they are the future. They grew up with tech so they naturally take to Tesla.I'm glad you enjoyed that. As far as Buick I'm not a fan, but I'd own one of them before a Tesla.
Some of this younger generation being our future is frightening to be honest. Terrifying in fact!!A lot of people feel that way. The younger generation does not and they are the future. They grew up with tech so they naturally take to Tesla.
I love the younger people and work with them a lot. Primarily education and personal finance. They are the future. Some of this younger generation being our future is frightening to be honest. Terrifying in fact!!

I’ll take the one that isn’t assembled in China.I'm glad you enjoyed that. As far as Buick I'm not a fan, but I'd own one of them before a Tesla.
All you have to do is walk into a dealership, with the strike going on they might sharpen their pencil and cut you a deal.I’ll take the one that isn’t assembled in China.![]()
Most Americans could care less where a vehicle is made.I’ll take the one that isn’t assembled in China.![]()

Looks, price and quality rule. It's big talk that they care but they will buy anything that looks good to them at the best price. Im talking majority.
How does BYD compare to Tesla?
BYD is still the upstart vs. Tesla in terms of pure electric vehicles and premium pricing, but it's targeting the "BEV" title. More broadly, BYD in many ways is the EV maker Tesla has claimed or aspired to be. BYD makes its own batteries and chips, and sells those batteries to third parties such as Tesla.Sep 25, 2023
I'm thinking along those lines too. Elon better keep his fingers crossed and hope that Attos 3 doesn't make it here. Most people in the US will buy something that looks pretty and is cheap and not give a crap where it comes from.If they bring the Attos 3 to the US at the prices they are selling for elsewhere Musk and his stock are going to take it right in the shorts.
It seems BYD has already taken the muskrats ev crown.
On the other side of that coin, a lot of young people see this as a fad and are not embracing the gee whiz stuff that makes geezers orgasmic. Sales of stick are improving, they are seen as drivers cars. My nephew bought a nice clean used Audi Quattro with a 6 speed stick and loves it.A lot of people feel that way. Well, actually Tesla, like a lot of brands only contain 60 to 65% American parts that are assembled hereOk with that logic then the supposed talk of the Chinese made American assembled Tesla will likely fall deaf on those ears too. I really don’t understand the Chinese Tesla argument though.
Let's not forget, even though no statistics to show Jeffs "young people" assume he is correct. One must remember the young people are getting paid $7,500 in free tax money to buy the car. But even with that money, Tesla just scrapped the all wheel drive Model Y to lower the price $3,750 I doubt they are doing this because demand is so great. AS they eliminated this very model when demand was great and only sold the more expensive all wheel drive. I see Tesla as the first LED watches, today mechanical watches are very desirable.
Sure, there is room for all kinds of cars. I wonder if my old Vette with its Muncie M20 will ever be worth anything? 2nd syncros are pretty beat...On the other side of that coin, a lot of young people see this as a fad and are not embracing the gee whiz stuff that makes geezers orgasmic. Umm, no, the first Hondas were not junk. We owned a 1976 first gen Civic 1500 CVCC. We had it for fourteen years and it was a great little car and very entertaining to drive. Easy to work on and little went wrong or required attention over the years. All valid points. I would add that loyalty to the "Big 3" American companies was a major factor. But with the quality problems of the later 1970's and gas prices, things changed. The first Hondas were junk. Then Toyota changed the world with their quality first and business model of repeat customers.
The CVCC was a great car. The 600, not so much, but it did pave the way for the later cars, starting with the CVCC.Umm, no, the first Hondas were not junk. We owned a 1976 first gen Civic 1500 CVCC.
