Chevron SynGear HD or XDM

Anyone explain the difference between the two?
The XDM comes in 375lb drums while the HD is 400. XDM is cheaper per gallon but the literature kind of makes it seem it's better,, maybe??
It's not very clear.

I've stumped everyone. Nice! Haha!

Even the Chevron "helpline" wasn't very helpful. Just said need to use the XDM for a Dana extended warranty.
I replied asking for differences otherwise, which is "better". Crickets.

Have a few customers that will ONLY use HD, others only XDM and others that will use whatever.... and none for any real reason aside from that's what they've been using, it works, not changing.
Sometimes frustrating when the product is hard to get vs another that is equivalent or better.
