checking before final decision....

Ok this is killing me.

What is a CREAM PUFF?

Secondly, if its a 05 with only 12k miles I might be worried. 5 years, 12.5k miles, means it was a Sunday driven car. Taken out on weekends and enjoyed and then garaged. This one you said has the in-between oil changes? If so then its what? 2 oil changes?

What concerns me is a low miles, perhaps build up internally? I don't much about the BMW's, but you might luck out and have a great car. But you need to think about 5 year old tires if they haven't been replaced, will probably need replacement soon.

The 06 with 47k isn't by any means a problem. It was driven more, went by the 15k Oci's(3 oil changes), but you hit the same dead end. What other service was done to it?

If you drove them, drive them both again spiritedly. At the end of the drive, work the numbers on the one you like more. Which color do you like more? Don't choose a color combo because of rarity, choose the combo because you like the color. It has to be reflective of you, not other peoples ideas on the car.

I know that the black 2006 car has more options and the 2 yrs or so of CPO, BUT it also has almost 4x miles as the white 2005. and still, it's priced about $2000 MORE than the white one.
IMO, it should at least be priced equal to the 2005, don't you think?

About driving both: I will only be able to drive the one I decide on (before paying, of course) based on a pre-purchse inspection. i WILL drive that chosen one, though.
Same car, same engine, with only mileage as different, if the black one also passes a PPI well, i doubt there will be a big difference betw, them.

I certainly cannot travel to MN and MA to drive both of them.

Anies: the 2005 passed a pretty thorough PPI at a BMW specialized shop with flying colors. Even the mechanics and the owner who talked to me were highly impressed with its cosmetic and mechanical condition.

Is the black one being sold by a BMW dealer? If so, that would probably explain the higher asking price. Plus, the CPO warranty has its value, too.

I wouldn't really worry about the higher mileage, as long as the pre-purchase inspection doesn't reveal any problems. When was it CPO'd?

He hasn't driven them because they are both from out of town, AFAIK.

Well I think your heart is set on the one. It may not be 100% but its well over 70%. That 30% is doubt, which will be with you until you sign the papers. Nobody is ever 100% sure on a decision as at some point they have a doubt or are worried. If this is what you want, and you have the means to make it happen, then do it! Go with what you like!

Johnny.
The MN was garaged for winter always. (hence the low low miles I believe)
the shop that did the inspection said it was spotless and in showroom condition.

IDK about the one in MA.
