We are STILL on the old one. No yankage yet! (Unlimited)That plan (as well as T-Mobile own brand overall) is not the deal that it used to be. Now it has no phone subsidy and only 50 GB of data.
Currently Visible has an offer for new subscribers $19 for 26 months, all in. I don't doubt that Verizon would try keep current customers with a better offer. Perhaps the OP should try that. As for your final conclusion about the potential "risk", that has been the personal experience with Visible service.I was in the process of switching from Verizon (20+ years) to Visible. As soon as I clicked the port lock code, I got an offer to save $20 per line per month so I stayed for just a couple dollars more than Visible was going to be.
The main problem with a lot of these sub-brands is they are MVNOs so officially they are 2nd tier with respect to network priority. This goes for Visible, Tracfone (also VZW network), Mint, Google Fi, etc.
Is it a risk? Yes.
Is it really a risk? Probably not.
I'm not very versed in Tracfone. My dad has been a customer of theirs for many many years, 15-20. I think he handles most of it all online or on phone. Can I get tracfone set up at my Wal Mart? Thank you

Definitely make sure the phone is unlocked. There were some recent court rulings about this and I don't believe it has to be automatic anymore.
It's not unlocked then. You'll need to pay off the phone or finish out the contract. When I got the IPhone 17 it was on Verizon. I just had to pay state sales tax so I’ll ask if it’s unlocked
I have Tello, Unlimited Calls and Texts for about $13.26 or so. My plan is like $8.00 a month plus the taxes and other fees. I have no Data on this Phone. Tracfone has a cheap plan like Tello but I think it is $6.00 more a month.Good day folks. I realized Verizon screwed me last month. Took me off auto pay then added insurance I did not ask for/want. Thinking of tracfone or. Phone is from Verizon also. Shame as was paying $45/month with auto pay as I’m a legacy member. Just my experience and any better carriers?

T mobile has a deal right now. If you bring in a copy of your Verizon or at&t bill they'll beat it.Good day folks. I realized Verizon screwed me last month. I am coming up at month 23 of a 24 month contract. I just looked at T-Life. I can get a choice of 4 phones free, one of which of which is an Samsung S25 (I currently have an S24) for free with monthly credit. I can upgrade now at any time now. That plan (as well as T-Mobile own brand overall) is not the deal that it used to be. Now it has no phone subsidy and only 50 GB of data.

I was on Redpocket for several years, but when US Mobile starting offering phones for dirt cheap, I switched. Redpocket had nothing comparable, and the annual cost was higher as well. Both are fine. You can pick your network. I like ATT. Tried Verizon via USM, and the service was slightly worse, but still usable.I have been using Redpocket on Verizon towers for 5+ years. No issues at all. It seems they have raised their prices though. Currently my el cheapo annual plan pretax price is $110 but used to be $90.
The negative is that MVNOs typically have less network priority, so you could see slower data or phone issues at times of network congestion.
