I was looking for a pds for Castrol GTX on the Castrol web site and found three new PDS dated within the last two weeks. They're titled GTX Magnatec and they are for 0w-20, 5w-20 and 10w-30. Looks like they're Dexos approved. Are they just renaming the current GTX Synblend? http://msdspds.castrol.com/msdspds/msdspds.nsf/CastrolResults?OpenForm&c=USA%20(US)&l=All&p=gtx&n=&b=All&t=PDS&autosearch=No&autoload=No&sitelang=EN&output=Full&spu=Lubricants&unrestrictedmb=No&cols=0

The Magnatec molecules are an ester "Unique Molecular Attractant" that preferentially cling to metal surfaces. US had it before as "start-up" that didn't work as a marketting tool

Yes, I remember several years ago when Castrol had the "Magnetic" and "Start Up". I bought a boatload of it on closeout. These oils are great when on closeout. Closeout meaning... when they don't sell well due to poor marketing. Great Oils! I will look for it in couple of years on the closeout/discontinued oil shelf at the parts stores. smile
