Long-time lurker. I have been searching for an oil for my turbo engine car made after 2020 (Subaru 2.4L). My owner's manual spec's API SN+ ILSAC-GF6A, but given my engine's known risk factors, I wanted to find an oil that is spec'd for greater protection. I recall reading discussions about oil that has oem approvals, and after some searching found Castrol Edge LL IV 0W-20. I'm still under warranty - I will be using an oil with API approval and the weight spec'd in my US owner's manual.
I reached out to Castrol customer service and received the reply below. I believe I have a kit from OAI in the garage. If I do, I might run a used oil analysis or VOA. I thought I would pass along the info to anyone who might be interested.

I've looked at alternatives such as Mobil 1 ESP X2 (API SL) and Motul 8100 Ecoclean (MB 229.72, LL-17 FR+, Jaguar, API SP/SQ).
I ran one used oil analysis with Motul 8100 Ecoclean, wear was fine. Motul is only mail-order for me, and I'd like to find something I could buy in a store.
