Actually if you use the truck at all off pavement, the body cladding is better than all the dents and scatches through the paint and primer! It may not look great but it is functional!

don't know why you would be concerned with cars not sold in the US... Daewoo is no longer sold here, and the Chinese don't have any brands here (yet) either; how can you make a judgement call on something you've never seen?

They were made after WW2 and Called "Victory", probably made from recycled tanks

I remember them when I was little. People said they are "tanks" by all means.

I learned a very long time ago not to hate anything or anyone, especially an inanimate object.

I do get a laugh out of people who need to use cars to bolster a shallow self image or to proclaim to the world that they have arrived. It's especially funny when you realize that the person driving the "look at me" car is probably deeply in debt on the vehicle, or worse yet dumb enough to get suckered into leasing a vehicle. I think there are manufacturers that market to the shallow self image crowd, and the shallow self image crowd buys into the notion that a car will make them feel better about themselves.

I think that cars like BMW, Mercedes and Jaguar often play to those with self image issues, but I don't hate the cars. I do feel a certain degree of pity for those that drive them.



I drive nice vehicles not because I am trying to "show the world that I arrived" but simply because I enjoy what they offer. I drive my Corvette not to impress, but because I like a car that is quick and handles well. I drive my CTS because I like a luxury car that is comfortable and somewhat sporty. I could care less that other people may think I am showing off. That is just jealousy in most cases.

Yes, that's Pobeda, built right after the victory in The War in 1946. There was also a Polish clone. Volga was far more dependable and I know folks who crashed in one - it was the other party that suffered. They also had a KGB version of it. ZAZ was a funny looking hunchback.

GM's minivans from 1996-whenever discontinued. The 3400 was awful shoehorned into that engine bay, the seats were heavy and uncomfortable, and the bodies rusted out so fast it wasn't funny. They might have been okay people-movers, but were not good cars for DIY service. Hoping they didn't break was about as far as DIY went with those.

I don't know about that one...at least the Echo was good at something....the Aztec excelled at nothing except for making me puke a little in my mouth each time I saw it....
my neighbors have a pea green aztek, got it new and still have it. takes a beating and is rock solid reliable.


So is an anvil, but that don't make it pretty...

The least pleasant vehicle I have ever driven was a 1991 GMC G35...1 ton van with a TBI 350. It was the most gutless thing I've ever been in. I'm sure it had a horrible "fleet use" gear ratio which didn't help. The steering feel was sloppy, it was a rattle trap, nothing worked right, and I really have nothing positive to say about it. Granted it was about 18 years old when I drove it, but still it only had about 60K miles on the odometer and had not led that difficult of a life (mostly highway, light loads).

There are a lot of GM FWD cars I don't care for, in particular the W and J body cars. Yes, I know they are usually fairly reliable, but I'm just not a fan. I can't stand those awful interiors or the boring/sometimes ugly exteriors.

Low end Chrysler vehicles are probably my least favorite of all though. I used to work for an auto auction and had to drive and often push tons of 1-3 year old Chryslers all day. The Rams, Grand Cherokees, 300s, etc. were very nice, but the Calibers, Compasses, Avengers, etc. seemed like half a** garbage. They had the cheapest, ugliest interiors with horrible carpet, cloth, and plastics. Without driving them off the lot it wouldn't be fair to comment on their driving, but they were bottom of the barrel in just about every aspect.

I hate anything made by Audi or VW. Huge pieces of junk. I love when some kid tries to convince me his Audi is great but when he starts it up the thing knocks. Audi and VW have too many transmission, engine, and electrical issues. The guy who owns a mom and pop repair shop down the road from me says "I wouldn't drive one of those cars even if someone gave it to me". He says each one of those cars that comes in has some electrical nightmare. He said this one guy must have over 10 grand into his VW and it still doesn't run right.

I can deal with mechanical stuff, but chasing down electrical gremlins is something I truly hate. I'd expect an old Ford Escort to have some electrical issues, but when you pay a pretty penny for a car you'd expect stuff to remain working for a bit. My buddy's Audi A4 had more electrical issues than my old $800 1990 Jeep Cherokee which had been through water halfway up the doors a few times.

I took my driving test in a '65 Chevy van. Big cracker box on wheels. You had to get up out of the seat to shift to reverse or 2nd so even if it had seatbelts you couldn't wear one and drive.

But! if the choke doesn't work, just open the doghouse and set it by hand. Coolant leak? No problem. Just open the doghouse and add water. Don't even need to get out of the driver's seat. Want to change the plugs but it is raining or snowing? No problem. Have a seat in the passenger seat and remove and install.

Yes, its hideous and believe it or not, I mentioned it here on the forum and someone said its a "feature" Toyota uses to control noise and vibration. Uh, huh. Sure.

I've given it some thought, and I can't name any passenger cars or light trucks that I hate. There are some that I'd like to have... others that I'd avoid. But it's just a machine.

But I don't work on cars all day, every day. I work on heavy equipment, trucks, buses, and the like. I can I name some of THOSE that I hate. I hate the old 'Silver Eagle' buses. [censored], I hate MOST buses for that matter (well, lots of school buses aren't too bad, but MOST tour buses are [censored] to work on). I hate pre-9000 series John Deere combines. I hate Mannheim Deere tractors. I hate Cummins L10 (pre-CELECT) engines. And Kenworth T2000 trucks.

So I'm sure if I worked on cars daily and knew them a little more intimately, I'd be every bit as hateful as Chris. What's that saying? Familiarity breeds contempt?

Cant really recall any I hate. Lots that I could say it would only be possible to care less about them if I made a effort to.
