Can you ID the car this suspension belongs to?
Also, note the externally vented disc. You rarely see that on production cars.

The aluminum foil coated ductwork and the crudely welded flat sheet metalwork in the background don't look factory to me.

Very much factory. All the welds are by hand.

They are still mighty fine looking pieces of machinery. My favorite is the Corniche Convertible...blue..with white leather seats with blue piping...

Externally vented? I still fail to see how, it looks like any other vented brake rotor.

I think he's talking about the aluminum foil covered duct in front of the rotor.

What? I'm talking about the rotor vents close to the hub. On most rotors the vent area is on the back side, which makes the front side look solid all the way to the hub.
The only domestic vehicles I've seen with externally vented discs on are some Chrysler products (my 300M has them on the front) and on the Ford 500. Look at any BMW or Benz and you won't see external vents like this.

Ya know G-Man, it just could be that the people at BMW, Mercedes, the Formula One car companies and a few others know something about cooling brakes.
Sucking air in around the hub nut will get a bit cooler air, but it won't get much flow because the area of the opening is so small.
