CarFax for 2019 VW Jetta, what do you think?

Look at it and drive it. Smell the interior with the windows closed and AC off (to understand how bad the smoke is). I have a GTI with that engine and about that many miles: no problems. If you like it, offer about $15,000 as mentioned above and see what they say.

Daughter and I looked at this Jetta GLI today, very clean everywhere and no cosmetic evidence of the minor right front damage noted. It looks like there was some suspension/steering damage with the tire mounting and alignment then alignment checked 10k later. Engine very quiet at idle with hood up. Interior very clean but the shift knob was replaced with one with sparkles and the shifter boot is purple suede, otherwise the car is stock, thinking it was female owned. Also slight hint of smoke in the cabin. It's a 2.0T with 6MT and 64k miles. Is this something to look at again and drive or pass on? Makes more sense than a new WRX in her current situation.

I wouldn't even buy a new Volkswagen

I think i would pass for the various already explained, smoke smell/CPU reprogramed twice/almost out of warranty.

I think any flashing of the computer could be considered "reprogramming". Technically i suppose even coding a battery could be considered "reprogramming".

Of course it depends entirely on how it is input. Suspect all the ____ was checked is multipoint "courtesy inspections" and the like.

I have the same year in the Autobahn trim, just rolled 50k miles. Of course they eat tires, it's FWD making nearly 300 ft lbs of torque 😆. That one is a 35th Anniversary edition unless the prior owner went through the trouble of rim and badge swaps. If it has DCC it is most certainly a 35th. If the clutch is original with that mileage it is on borrowed time, otherwise nothing major to do. Plugs should be replaced, and run a 504.00 in it. The red led accent lighting is adjustable and can be changed to any color you want. Remaining warranty is a bonus, but not a concern that it's almost up...not too many other MY19 vehicles with a warranty left period.

I happen to have a popular car buying service on Facebook called 48 Hours And A Used Car and the Jetta is one of our top three sellers.

If you're interested feel free to PM me.

Thanks for all the input. This isn't the right car but a Jetta may be. Just not interested in dealing with a smoker car and the front hit and alignments could be an ongoing problem. Also why would a steering wheel be replaced? That's odd. Lots of 1 owner no accident reported cars out there. Daughter might end up somewhere outside of dad's ability to do routine maintenance and deal with things so if something has a sketchy rep we should stay away from it. Yeah a Camry is the safe bet but that isn't happening.

Is this a real VW thing, clutch almost gone at 66k or an opinion that it was driven hard? I've had quite a few manuals and none ever needed a clutch replaced but some had the clutch replaced because the throw-out bearing went bad so it was proactive clutch replacement.

What is the rep of the 8spd auto?

This. It's not a VW thing, but more of a GTI/GLI thing given that the stock clutch can't handle much more than stock power, at least on the MK7/7.5.

I had a '17 GTI with the 6 speed manual. Bone stock and under certain circumstances could get the clutch to slip. Just an unfortunate thing in those cars.

The clutch can be a thing and judging by the “boy racer” shifter, it would be safe to assume its life is likely compromised.
The car is immaculate except the sparkly shift knob and purple boot. And smoke smell. I get more of a female owned vibe. Could be girl racer. The replaced steering wheel is odd though. Doesn't matter not interested in it.

That's why I preferred and bought my 2017 Mk7 GTI with the DSG automatic: can handle more power. The paddle shifters work just fine if you want to select gears yourself.
