Can my neighbor DO THIS ???

I can't believe authorities would allow a junk car on the street with (presumably) no plates. Here I had a piece of construction-related equipment attached to a truck (both clean and new or newer at least and properly licensed) I was towing legally parked in the street and I got a hassle from cops on complaints of neighbors that it was close to a 4-way stop sign and they had a hard time seeing around it. I agreed to pull it forward but offered the suggestion that maybe they actually stop at the 4-way like they're supposed to rather than just sliding through in a "cali-stop" like they probably did. Even people with a car with no plates can be cited here in most towns, though they usually aren't...

Yeah, I'd of waited until the ordinances took effect to complain to the cops...

I'm feeling hawkish on this one folks. Nonfence is going up yet, but i'll tell ya what IS going up....

Lights and camera. I'm going biblical here, "where there is darkness, shine light"

I'm getting an LED coachlight so bright that Chuck Norris will have a reason to squint. And I know just the place to tuck a security camera.

I'm having a pixel on every inch of anything "visible" from my yard.

A "junk" car to some may be a running & driving car to others that just need transportation on occasion. Not everyone needs a shiny late model car that is washed and waxed regularly. That vehicle may be very important to someone.

I believe in the philosophy of "live and let live". I always mind my own business, and expect people to do the same. If something my neighbors are doing is not affecting me personally and deliberately,it's none of my business whatsoever and I won't give it a second thought, and will go on about life.

Yeah I was just thinking about that thread the other day. Whatever happened with all of that? Wasn't there also stuffed monkeys or something hanging in the trees too?

They can. I'd have let it ride until absolutely necessary, or they parked their junk in front of my house. It's a narrow street, and parked cars, even legally parked ones, pose a safety hazard.

Neighbor runs a taxi business from their house. Their driveway is full of cars, which violates town ordinances. But they're all drivers, none of them are eyesores, and they're otherwise nice people.

If you were my neighbor and you went to the city without even having the decency and the social skills to speak with me about what was a problem to you, I'd consider you a jerk.
I wouldn't actively retaliate. I certainly wouldn't be snapping pics of you mowing your yard.
I'd never again have anything for you, though.
Need a little help when you get stuck in the plowed up snow while trying to get out of your driveway on your way to work? I'd wave at you as I drove by.
Need a jump start on a cold winter morning? It wouldn't be coming from me.
People treat you as you treat them. If you act like a self-righteous jerk you should expect to be treated as one.

I completely agree with you. That's why I spoke with they guy nicely the last time it was left for a week straight when our ordinances say to move it every 24hours. Then gave the rotting car with its window down in the rain another two weeks grace period before snapping a pic.

I was generous.

A taxi business at a residence next to your private residence?!

Wow. You are a saint, and your local city council are wimps.

I'd be happy to deal with that...especially if he might let me use his commercial discount at the part store.

I'll take two rebuilt front calipers, pads, rotors, and all the V-belts for Liz's Blazer, both radiator hoses and a transmission mount (need to look up a 1989 Fleetwood with an Olds 307) for my Caddy.

Get a Mossberg Maverick 88 12 gauge pump shotgun and sit on your back porch or deck/patio and clean it. Every Saturday.

Your neighbors will smile.

What's the problem? The taxi leaves at start of shift and returns at the end. Probably doesn't show up any other time unless there's an issue.

If I carpooled I'd have my co-worker's car in my driveway all day, and possibly several different co-workers and cars. I'd look like a drug dealer.

They don't park in the street unless they need to temporarily, they're gone most of the day running people around the city, their cars are all kept up, they knock off repairs at reasonable hours, and they otherwise have a tidy yard. They also seem pleasant enough the few times we've talked.

They're across the street from the landscapers who also run their business from their house, and put in a heated driveway this summer. Again, they don't want trouble with any other neighbors, so they keep things to a dull roar outside of business hours.
