Can I get anything similar to 10w-30/HD30 Amsoil

at Auto Zone or AA?

Thanks, Joe

If you want an synthetic HDEO, they usually come in 0w30 and 5w40. Delo is one brand that has those grades. There's also 10w30s non-synthetic HDEOs, which for San Antonio, should be just fine.

I doubt you'll find the above in local AA and AZ stores this far south. Probably a good idea to call around before making a trip to all the stores in the area. You might look for Truck Stops that do oil changes or a local distributor in the yellow pages. Local Ford stealers may also have MC HDEO in 10w30.

I believe that Volvo recommends a 10w-30/30wt synthetic for some of their "Penta" boat engines. I'd try a Marine dealer and see if you can find a low viscosity synthetic there.

Castrol also makes a 5w-30, synthetic HDEO, called "Elixion" that you may be able to order from a Castrol jobber.

Shell has their Rotella 10W-30 out...up here in my area one can only find it at a hardware store called Menards, and it's the only xxW-30 HDEO available short of going to the Stealerships.

The good news is that it's now the new CJ-4 stuff, so, if you're looking for car or ULSD use, then you're golden...
