I want to make lemonade by peeling a few lemons and blending them and adding to water. Will this work? I want to do this because I like lemonade but the premix store bought versions have too much sugar. Right now I am drinking watered down lemon lime gatorade.

Yea, squeeze them, strain the lemon juice, boil water with the amount of sugar you want (so it dissolves) - let the water cool, and combine.

It takes about a cup of lemon juice mixed with 4 cups of water to get a good mix.

I'm sure the commercial way is to shred and press them through a fine screen to get every bit of lemon juice they can.
What my wife does is just cut slices out of a lemon and squeeze them into a glass of water as needed. She adds some honey sometimes but that's optional. You can try limes this way too.

I was just thinking of blending them and running them through a metal mesh strainer.

Even then they aren't going to automatically wring the juice out of themselves but if you poured your water over them it would probably do the trick.

Get one of these:

I don't think the ground up seeds are good for the flavor, but I may be getting lemons mixed up with something else.

Believe it or not, some of the commercial citrus juicers work the same way as a home juicer but on a bigger scale.
