Caliper slide pin grease

My latest is Raybestos silicone brake lube 16oz tub with a brush in the lid. Been trying to use silicone, which is common/good/reasonable in cost. Will be using this last container till I die I think........ 🤣

If it's metal to metal, I use hgigh temp wheel bearing grease. If there's a rubber part involved, it's sil-glide. I found sil glide disappears on metal after a short time.

Just went through this with the rears on my son's GLI. Had used the AGS Sil-Glyde for years, but always had to re-lube the pins because it would get tacky and gummed up. Asked here about better lubes and it was nearly split between Sil-Glyde and true silicon paste. Couldn't get the Mission Automotive stuff, which got a high BITOG rating, so one similar to @spasm3 was recommended. OAIEGSD is the brand, but is a dead ringer for the Berkland paste (probably same stuff with a green label). Much thicker and viscous than Sil-Glyde so may stick around a lot longer. I like it.

I just bought a tube of EZ Glyde dielectric silicone grease - clear colour. It protects the rubber boots and is still rated for high temps and won't dry out too easily.

I also picked up some orange ceramic grease to use on the caliper contact points with the pads and pistons. But I like to use the dielectric grease on the pins, so I use different grease on different parts.
