Brake slider pin's : installed pushed in or out ?

Whatever grease you’re using is hardening up.
Good grease will not do what you’re describing.
It's whatever goop comes with the caliper, most of which are still OEM.

Maybe this year I'll pull pins and try to flush out, then use Sil-glyde. I might have to just applied more sil-glyde in the past to the pins, not sure now.
 
I gently tug on the boot to burp the air out. It's makes it way easier to bolt the brackets back into the knuckles with the pins not springing out. Same with caliper piston boots. I'm careful to burp the trapped air out.

Do yourself a favor and buy a silicone paste, like these below. Even with sil-glyde people are reporting it can dry out. These don’t dry out or get gummy.

sil-glyde is holding up fine, I dismantle and re-grease every year.

here is the rest of my process after all the parts are clean I put on very light coat of the grease on the slide pins then move them around and in an out without the rubber boot when it comes out the last time it must be clean if not I did not clean it properly.

rubber boot gets a light coat of grease applied with q-tip only here , lithium soap grease to hard to source.
