Recently removed a MP7317 from a 2007 Honda Odyssey Van.
5000 miles on the filter over 22 months.
Oil was Pennzoil YB 5w-20.
Pleats were evenly spaced before cutting the media apart. No photos.
Plastic cage was firm, rigid.
Potting in the end caps was unbroken and not cracked; it fully sealed the ends of the pleats.
Only 3 visible metal fragments caught in the filter but pic of the media does not show them.
Moderate amount of carbon is observable in the pleats; it can be seen in the close up of the media.
78 square inches of media.
Overall I am quite pleased with the performance of the filter even though the mileage was very low for a 20K rated filter.

Very good looking filter indeed. I didn’t know this was discontinued, but thinking out loud, I believe the last ST filter I bought was white.

This engine looks like an excellent candidate for a 0w40.

Nice work and good cleaning happening. What filter and oil back in/on?

Thank You sir

PYB doing some cleaning, & the Champ XL clone ST MP doing some catching! If you want to play the Rock Auto lottery, the Champ PH2867XL is the exact same filter, looks like $3.53+shipping. Some HPL EC30 would help too, that's what's in my Express 6.0 LS, it's carbon central!
That's a good deal and you're right on the "lottery". RA's shipping is not real good. You have to order around a half dozen to start making it worth it. I have done that in the past though.

Yup! Sometimes on RA you have to add the filter quantity one at a time to see where the break points are for shipping charges. It brings the per unit cost down if max out the quantity before the shipping charge break point goes higher.

Seeing the crud - you’d think a cleaner was used - or maybe we need to recalibrate our thinking …

I am guessing this looks like fuel dilution and oil breakdown not "cleaning" per se, on that sparsely driven and most certainly short-tripped car.
Three visible Metal bits in the filter is not a good sign either on a well worn in engine.

I miss these MP filters, could have been an affordable go-to for Subaru, Honda, etc, drivers. If my crystal ball wasn't cloudy, I would have stocked up a bit last year.

Yeah, even as someone buying EC30 - we all know that oil filter crud is pretty much seen as a metric here - mine was pristine with EC30 - but that’s coming behind mostly M1 AP (70% PAO) run under OLM …
More or less a good health check to me …

I just ordered a couple Champ XL's for everything in my fleet from RA. Shipping was $12 on 12 filters. Averaged out to $4.50 a piece which is half what I'd have paid for Fram Ultra's.
