Are you still living in Kamloops? We moved to Kamloops in 1974, which already had a McDonald's, out in Valleyview. (If I recall correctly, the "odometer" at that time read "OVER 12 MILLION SERVED".) A second one opened, this one in North Kamloops, in September 1976. Dad was given three free passes to opening day, and gave them to me.
I took two buddies to the all-you-can-eat gala. The three of us ate mightily - I likely went for my usual hat trick - a Big Mac, a QP with cheese, and a Filet-O-Fish. I was a bottomless pit back then.
Its a city i might consider moving to if and when i leave Vancouver.
I visited about 3 times, last time about 11 years ago.
Kamloops has grown to 110, 000 pop. And i think that is very good size , giving everything one could need .
My only thing is the frickin Cold winters and hot summers, it take some adjustment.
My first choice would be Penticton, or Summerland, Vernon, Peachland....but the cost of living is much more in the Okanagan, so maybe i freeze my butt off lol.
Kamloops has very friendly people and decent drivers, good shopping, cheaper car insurance and gas, nice outdoors stuff to go explore....decisions!
