With the entire family crawling through one of the worst colds I've seen in a while we are all starting to get a little bit of cabin fever. Typically, I attack the weather either bicycling (weather allowing), short jogs and long dog walks including woods time and day hikes. Just waiting for these colds to finish their course... I also have some car work to do including LED fogs on the truck, HIR1 headlight bulbs in the wifes car and a clutch job on the Mustang, althought its a little cold for that (even in the garage).

Anybody else getting a little cooped up? What do you like to do about it?

We both stay pretty busy, and when we're not working or doing volunteer work we manage to exercise quite a bit outdoors, even in the cold. When it's sub-zero we may spend time on our indoor equipment instead of going outside.

Both of us also have our separate hobbies-I enjoy spending time out in the shop. There's always a project to work on; just fire up the heat and it's toasty warm.

Been fairly busy trying to help keep stoves running of others via web. Tried chasing the snowblower couple times today but the dogs start wanting back in the house as todays high was not fun at -9 for the high. Trying to heat the shop when the temps get this cold sucks. Hope to get to Fargo in a day or two before another snow blast

Nope. I love the cold, so am happy to do most temperature-insensitive things even if its cold out. Wet or snowy is another thing, of course.

And there's always plenty to do inside too.

Man I wish Vit D worked for me. I tried 10k IUs daily for probably a year and nothing changed.

But if it works for you, more power to you. Nothing easier in life than getting an energy and mood boost from a proven source.

OP - you should still be able to go for a brisk walk if you have a cold. Just wear the right clothing so you aren't stewing in your own sweat on a cold day.

I ride my bike to work even in the bitter cold (though no ice riding. Too risky). I mountain bike, run and ski. I hate the winter and what it does to vehicles, but I find plenty to do outside. If the water is not too icy. I'll kayak or take out the jonboat. I live close to Lake Erie, so maybe one day I'll get a hovercraft to island hop. I wont snowmobile or take an ATV across Erie. I have heard of too many people who never made it to their destination doing so.

Weather hasn't restricted me, it's in the 60s and 70s! Maybe I'll take the Jeep up North this weekend, haven't decided.

Don't you have a car to be working on?

Have a blood test? What were you looking to change?

I play outside regardless of temperatures. Just dress accordingly and go.
