sprintman, wasn't it Richard Farmer (Farmer Bros) had a wine talkback thing going on on Saturday Mornings 20 years ago ?

I remember a lady ringing in that all of her cellared wine had gone off, and the cardboard had rotted.

Tried cellaring raskies, rathe than bottles, and didn't have a cellar, just a crawlspace.

Made me LOL at the time.

Half Mile Creek is a pretty OK cask.

Ive only had the Peter Vella Chardonnay, and Almaden Mountain Burgandy. The wines are just as good and last a couple of months. The Peter Vella is comporable I think to Kendall Jackson, obviously not as good but good enough.

It is a good alternative if you drink a lot of wine or only want a glass so often and dont want to open a bottle up and waste it.

Almeden, Franzia, and Black box are very popular at the store I work part time at.

Some of the somewhat higher end wines are going to the box as well.

I drink mostly white wines, and blue nun can be had for 9.99 for a 3L box.

It says fresh.

I drink Black Box Cabernet. It's really good. And it lasts a long time from oxidation. Like 8 weeks.
And, this comes from what you may call a snob. Most, if not all, of my bottled wine is allocation-only.

I got a box of the Black Box Cab! $15!! It was in the dented bin. The cardboard was slightly dented. Nice rich wine. Good stuff.

Obviously finished the other box. Stayed the same until the end.

Black box is excellent for a higher end boxed wine. I have had excellent results with Hardy's wines from Australia. I am getting 6-8 weeks out of these products as well.

I'll take a dozen.

Check this out. My wife knocked the box.......er cask off the counter and busted the valve! I had to chug the rest yesterday. Less than a bottle left.......thank goodness.

Dunno what cask I'll go for next.
