You wont be disapointed with the colt, my model 1991 has over 15k rounds through it.

Should be a nice gun, Pablo. I don't like the series 80 safety or the cut they put under the trigger guard, but all else should be good.

And the large "paddle" thumb safety is there for you rest your thumb on while shooting. Like this:

That is Rob Leatham who is one of the top pistol shooters of all time. This grip makes a huge difference to all that I show it to.

I picked up my gun today. Very, very nice specimen. Field stripped it and cleaned the VERY stinky factory oil out. Hosed it down with Amsoil MP. Well made gun. This is the new Colt.

I bought a Colt 1911 Combat Commander in stainless many years ago. One of my favorite pistolas. Nice choice Pablo.

Shot my Rail Gun for the first time today. I tore throw 5 boxes of ammo today for my first shoot. This is going to be a problem. The gun feeds and shoots like a dream. Not one hitch.

There is a negative. The brushed stainless "mars" really easily. I can't call it scratched, but anything remotely hard is going to leave a mark. I need to learn about care on this finish.

The only time the gun was jumpy was with some Sellier & Bellot Czech Ammo. It's not labeled as +P, but WOW it's HOT. Not subtlety so....no difference in the other brands I was shooting, then I loaded that.....BAM.

The gun is very accurate and very easy to shoot. The trigger feel is very nice, smooth yet crisp.

Lastly - I'm not near as fast as I need to be field stripping the gun. FN and Sig are so easy, this 1911, it's a tool.

My old 1911 is a 1944 Government issue, stamped US Army, that I've had for some 60 years having been gifted by my dad. Highly accuritized, ported, and 3# trigger, I added Crimson Trace lazer sight system 2 years ago to aid in night target aquizition. I also have the Colt .22 conversion for it which is just a blast for low cost target practice.

It takes a little getting used to, but you will get faster the more you do it. Just don't get the spring cap in your eye or the kitchen window...

Try detail stripping a Sig vs. 1911. You will soon be praising the simplicity of a 1911.
