Very nice Pablo!! I'm in the market too.... but won't be spending anywhere near that much. I just got my gun license after almost 5 months of waiting... takes a while up here.

Well I started at the $500 range.....sorta inched up from there....

I just couldn't find the quality 1911 I wanted, without spending a bit.

That happens with 1911s. Nice pick!

About 5 yrs ago CZ USA was a real sleeper 1911, especially with their bobtail commander for about $750-800 retail. A really nice semi-custom (hand fitted) gun with premium features. Unfortunately, they became very popular for those exact reasons. Now they command Kimber money and sometimes more. I still kick myself for not getting the CBOB 10MM for $825 when I had it in my hands back then!

1911's grow on you. I never really cared for them until, of all people, my wife got a Colt Combat Elite. She later added a Commander, and a Kimber. So I finally got me a Colt Defender and love it! There is something nice about shooting a quality gun and enjoying it's history. But, yeah each gun was over $1000!

I bought an old (1983) Series 70, but had to return it due to the fact it wasn't in the condition promised.

I now have a new Series 70 reproduction on order. Too excited for words.

CZ makes some really excellent quality stuff. I think I'd rather have a CZ than a Kimber, at least a Kimber made recently. Once Kimber's sales shot up several years ago they were said to have started having quality issues. I would suspect that they had to farm out or find new subcontractors for certain parts once their volumes climbed and perhaps they had issues with that. I've heard that they've started to get things back under control.

I have several CZ guns and don't have any plans to get rid of them. Excellent workmanship.

Here's mine. I couldn't stand the looks of the ambisafety-hanged the safety to the conventional old school one. Improvement IMHO.

Great choice.
