My US 2008 Mercedes E320, OM642 Diesel has a DPF. It does not have Add Blue even though it has the BlueTec label on the trunk.
Add Blue fluid came in 2009 MY.

Those are diesels only. BMW diesel had it too.

GPF in EU is necessary due to particulate regulations. Here they are not that strict for gasoline to have it.

What a fabulous acronym. Near final stage effort to glean mpg before some major revolution renders all of it void. Pass the popcorn.

Re the ASS, I'm ok with being able to turn it off thru the iDrive screen. This wasnt pointed out to us upon delivery and the factory removed the button from the console by the shifter where it was located on other models, so I was always using sport mode as a workaround. This is a much better arrangement.
