This car had 4700 HARD miles on it. 35 track laps, at least 30 autocross runs and the Hot Rod Power Tour long haul.

I noticed a crack in my air lid on the car and will do the good ol JB Weld on it tomorrow.

Car had 2 quarts added, and had 10-40 Off the shelf Royal Purple in it.

Even with 2 quarts added and 4700 miles it sheared quite a bit.

Not sure if I'd be impressed until this vehicle has had other fluids through it and those fluids go through a similar treatment of hard driving.

It's a baseline. But I don't know how to read it without more info.
I guess I need to search for more UOA's on cars that have been raced some.

Was in a LS6, stock thermostat no oil cooler on the car.

Ia it bad? The explanation doesn't seem real bad. Not good either though.

Why are you posting, you can get a free breakfast at IHOP.

12,000 miles on unit? Did you build this yourself or crate motor?

Not sure how to distinguish wear from break in metals @ this point IMHO.

Built it myself, car itself now has 209,000 miles on it.

Was broken in on Shell Rotella for 500 miles, then put in Royal Purple 10-40.

Has been changed 2 times since then, now has Pennzoil Ultra in the pan.

LOL, I use those free IHOP coupons, used one this morning.

Given that RP 10w40 oil starts at 14.0 cSt viscosity, and this oil has sheared to 9.96 in only 4700 miles and 35 track day laps, I would say this oil is not performing. The oil analysis is not detecting significant fuel dilution, so we can't blame that for the low viscosity. Maybe Blackstone just made an error in the viscosity measurement?

LS series engines do not shear oil like this. Check out this UOA on M1 in a track-driven LS1:

And here's another on an LS7:

If that viscosity measurement is accurate, I am definitely not impressed with Royal Purple.

The PU 10w30 may be a little better, but I think it's still a bit light if you're doing track days in the deep south without an oil cooler. The RP 10w40 has apparently sheared to about the same viscosity.

Do you have a phobia against running M1?

Was the regular parts store RP with one quart of the HPS added. At the track the RP truck was there and thats all they had. I added 1/2 quart of the HPS at the track.

This is what I was thinking, in service too long with the workload it had put on it.

BUT

It was changed to RP right before leaving to go on the Power Tour and I did the long haul, autocross at the Muskegon Mi stop(5 passes).

3 topside races on the interstate with Power Tour cars.

Then the Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car Faceoff in Arlington which was Autocross(20 passes), Stop Box(6-8 passes) and about 35 laps on Eagles Canyon road course in Decatur Tx then 400+ miles home. Then I drove it around home for 400-500 miles.

So it had a heavy workload.

Bad thing is I can't remember if I put 5-30 or 10-40 in the car for the trip(oops), pretty sure it was 10-40.

Their 5w30 is not a thick one (HTHS < 3.5).

You can continue to use the RP, just change it more often if you're going to be stressing it like that.

Or consider a race oil like Motul 300V.

Not knowing what oil is in your ride, cardinal sin.
