I have several GunVault brand safes throughout the house.
None of them are biometric, all of them have the four finger buttons. It's a combo you can set and it's easy for me to open. I was worried about battery life so I've been testing the one next to the bed by opening it every night and kicking it closed when I get up. 3 years latter the safe pops open and the little light comes on (turns off after a bit if you don't close it).
I'm starting to wonder if I should replace it with lithium AA batteries so I don't have to worry about the shelflife of the battery since the voltage isn't an issue.
It does have a lockout mode if you guess the wrong combo. The safe can be opened anytime with the key.
I've seen the smaller models for $70 on ebay. The more expensive models have the light and a plastic shelf. I'd suggest the model with no light and smaller size. The larger size isn't that much bigger.
