hey guys im trying to figure out best thing to use for taking off old window tint it turned purple and hard to see outy window i origanily used wd40 and few razor knifes but it still left sticky residue over the windows any ideas

Goo Gone, an orange oil based solvent works wonders on sticky stuff. Simple Green is another that does well, but it can be toxic if inhaled.

Be careful.

This is something I need to do on my truck. I'm thinking about just having everything re-tinted.

Use any kind of ammonia based window cleaner, it will say not for use on tinted windows, well thats because it removes it. Spray it on and let it sit for a couple hours. Lay down towels to protect interior trim from dripping. You can then use a plastic scraper, the tint will come right off. Finish clean with some more cleaner on a rag and a little elbow grease. Done.

thanx guys i gotta laugh though this truck had deep tinted windows from factory who the heck puts cheap window film over it lol

instead of goo gone use goof off industrial. It is about 3 times stronger than goo gone. I used it yesterday to remove melted plastic stuff off an iron. Careful. it will remove paint.

I fully intend to add a 35% layer of tint to all windows of the Durango before next summer. The front door windows have nothing. The 35% will take some more of the edge off, especially in the third row area (which will HAVE a third row by then as well, right now my wife sits on an old couch cushion when we all go anywhere together)
