I ended up using a can of ammonia containing foam glass cleaner on my cars this weekend. Any boy did it do a great job! The problem is I have an 8 year old can of product that I don't think I can buy anymore. What do you recommend? Why is there such a beatdown of ammonia based glass cleaners?

Which one? They got all these numbers on Amazon.

What about the ammonia question?

If you have window tints do not use amonia based cleaners!

I've used Sprayway, invisible glass, and others don't really see a difference between them, I usually buy which ever is cheaper

Sprayway has an ammonia version; it has a purple can lid, part SW043. Works, but expensive, and there really isn't much ammonia in it.
It has to be shipped ORM-D.
I think mainly everything's reformulated because of potential classroom use.

A lot of people complain about reformulated white board cleaner.

CRC has an ammonia based spray glass cleaner. Really has worked well for me on multiple surfaces.

Invisible Glass because my windows are tinted. Ammonia will strip window tint and damage some plastics and vinyl. That's why I use Invisible Glass, as a bonus you can use it to clean laptops and t.v. screens etc, that ammonia based cleaners would destroy. I bought 5 19oz cans for $2.00 at Walmart on clearance.

I have always just used regular Windex with ammonia but I tinted the front windows to match the back windows of my truck so I picked up some Invisible Glass at Wal-mart. This is the non-aerosol version and I am not sure if I like it yet. It doesn't seem to have the cutting power that the windex had so I have to go over everything twice to get it clean. Also, it seems to dry so fast that it ends up drying before I can wipe it. When that happens, I end up making smears and streaks with the microfiber cloth I am using to wipe the windows. A little extra buffing with a cloth and the glass does come very clean though. I guess I just need to get used to it a little more.

Maybe I will try gunk or some other brand of glass cleaner next time.
