I've since moved all of my insurances over to Progressive and save hundreds per year. Best of luck in your search.

I have the same experience as this. Finally settled on Progessive.

i saw on youtube a gentleman had USAA for long time. However, he did some research that they were actually the most expensive out of the choices were given: Progressive and Geiko.

Cheaper is not always better. For the relatively small discount you'd get if you went with Progressive or Geico, you'd get poorer service, more run-around, more frequent denials, etc..

My most recent experience with them is pretty much all I need to realize how great they are. I got rear-ended on the highway and called them to report the accident and file a claim while still on the highway. Gave them the other guy's insurance info, described the damage etc.. and they had me set up with a local body shop before I got off the call. 10 days later, I had my car back, good as new, and didn't have to fork over a dime. Even got full rental coverage the entire time for free.

When I had Progressive, many years ago, and got rear-ended, they tried to claim it was my fault and denied coverage.

Who do you have for insurance now?

Here is my recent car insurance tale. We were Geico insured for the past 15-20 years. We were paying just over 8K per year. We have 4 cars on our policy. My wifes 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee (full coverage), my daughters (25) 2007 Jeep Compass (liability only), my sons (23) 2006 Hyundai Tiburon (liability only) and my 2015 Mazda 3 (full coverage). Our liability limits were maxed out without an umbrella. On October 13th I traded in the Mazda 3 for a 2019 Toyota 86. Geico raised my collision coverage by $800 per six months. So total would be $9,600 per year. I called foul and wife contacted Geico to find out what the [censored] happened. Geico stood their ground and said that is how much the policy will cost. That night we contacted Plymouth Rock Insurance. Same 4 cars, same 4 drivers, same coverage limits, same deductibles. Price now is $5,200 per year. It took me buying a new car to realize how much Geico had been overcharging us. I guess being a long time loyal customer means nothing in the insurance game. Told my wife that every November we will be insurance shopping to see if changing companies will reduce our rates. I blame myself for overpaying as I was complacent in that matter. Live and learn.

Also I did not read this thread and I am not even sure that this post follows it. Just felt like posting

Geico, historically known as Lucifer, [censored] or "Azazel" will never ever get my business back. Progressive at the moment.

Wow, bitog censors "S4tan".. LOL...

I'm a youngish single male with excellent credit. Geico and Progressive are always the cheapest for me and it's never close. Allstate, State Farm, etc. are always AT LEAST double. Even the cheapo places like esurance are more and they don't offer the high coverage limits I want.

In the last 20 years or so I've switched 3 times. All because my premiums doubled in one six month period. No accidents, tickets, etc so no idea why rates have done that. Anyway, currently with GEICO. Their rates were half what the previous company increased to. No brainer to switch.

For me nothing comes cheaper than Progressive and sometimes Geico. Though, my premium went up since I got rid of BMW and got Sienna. Go figure!

I've been able to negotiate good rates with my local Allstate agent. I stack my coverage for extra protection. However, none of my vehicles are new.
