Isn't that what a filter is for?That just does't seem feasible. Unless people are losing their caps and plugging the fill hole with rags or cotton balls.

My Tacoma I use the fushion app and a kiwi 3 to read temperature. I measure what comes out cold refill with a qrt extra and then put it into temp check mode.
My wife’s Pilot is easy peasy. My plan is to measure what comes out and add the same amount. Run it till the fan comes on and check with the dipstick. Add as necessary.

I found the most accurate way of checking the ATF in my Jeeps is on level ground, with the engine idling for a minimum of three minutes after a short drive. I check the level with a Dorman dipstick tool for Chrysler products, record the level, then take the temperature of the fluid with my temp probe. I look at the chart of where the level should be based on the temperature. I get an accurate reading I can trust.
